"Hinoe-Uma" (Fire-Horse)
In 1966 Japan experienced a sharp decline in birth rates. Either because would be parents thought that the Fire Horse myth was true or because they were worried their child would be treated adversely due to the Fire Horse myth. Legend & superstition caused such panic that conceiving a child was avoided. Such was the fear of being burdened with the notoriously, freedom loving, take no prisoners FIRE HORSE child. Meanwhile others hid newborns until the FIRE HORSE period was over, pronouncing their “newborn” joy in the next more fortuitous Luna Year. It’s a well-known phenomenon in Japan, but not so clear to Westeners. However the charts lay it bear. The superstition, particularly back in 1906, was that women born in the year of the “Fire Horse” have a bad personality and would likely kill their future husband. With the tradition of arranged marriage still high, many of the 1906 Fire Horse herd lived & died in poverty. With changes in tradition and due to their hard working nature, the Fire Horse herd born in 1966 have good fortune & luck. Despite their strong willed, unpredictable nature being formed from the heat of flames and the wildness of horses.
